BMW X6 Vantablack

Levitation 29 was commissioned by BMW to collaborate with Surrey NanoSystems (the inventors of Vantablack) on the world’s first Vantablack car.

BMW were looking for an extra-ordinary way to present the new BMW X6 as part of a global digital marketing campaign. By using the theme of camouflaging cars before they are unveiled to the public the idea was to make the BMW X6 appear to be photoshopped from your eyes – in real life. The only way to make this concept a reality was to use Vantablack , the world’s blackest material which absorbs 99.9% of light.

Levitation 29 developed the original concept and oversaw the  production of the car. My role in the project involved press and communications on behalf of Levitation 29 and Surrey NanoSystems in collaboration with BMW.
